Ho Chi Minh City Opportunities
Warnborough College (UK) is proud and delighted to partner with two organisations in Vietnam that will lead to more opportunities for Vietnamese VET students learning new skills underscored by British quality standards.
Warnborough Council member, Mr Teck Yeong Ng, spearheaded the initiative for us to link up with Hướng Nghiệp Á Âu (HNAAu) and City Intermediate School of Economics and Tourism (CET).
A signing ceremony was held on 22 September 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City. Our Vice-President of Alumni Relations and Patron of the Warnborough Foundation, The Rev’d Dr Richard G. Martin, attended the event with Mr Ng, where they spoke about Warnborough and how the partnership would work.
Ms Tran Thi Tra My (Deputy Head of HNAAu’s Training Department) said: “The on-site study abroad model is becoming increasingly popular. This model allows you to study right where you live but integrate knowledge and quality of education transferred from abroad. This helps you save a lot on travel, living, and study costs.”
Warnborough College will deploy a unique 3+0 vocational model with CET where students can study all 3 years in Vietnam and receive dual qualifications upon successful assessment of their competencies.
Mr Nguyen Ngoc Minh, a lecturer in Hotel and Restaurant Management at HNAAu, was the former F&B Director of Majestic Saigon Hotel, having worked in the Canadian & US markets. He said “The international market is much more demanding, you need to have a degree, improve your English skills, and show confidence and ability when working. If you have enough knowledge, persevere in learning, and improve your patience, you will easily integrate and develop”.
The event provided an opportunity for CET students to ask many questions surrounding the new programme, vocational study abroad, and the value of having an international qualification. We really look forward to working together with our new partners to provide excellent learning and career opportunities for Vietnamese students.
