Foundation’s Compass Programme

The HELM Compass programme

The week beginning August 9th saw the official launch of the Warnborough Foundation‘s HELM-Compass programme, which works with long-term unemployed participants to build their self-confidence and employability skills.

Warnborough College is donating the use of its facilities and learning resources, as well as some teaching staff. Participants can use the College’s computers to create and print their CVs and to avail of staff assistance.

The programme’s first cohort of participants came recommended by the Canterbury Job Centre. They are motivated to change their lives and have committed to completing the programme, which lasts a total of 6 weeks. Think Healthy Me, a Foundation collaborator, will provide mentors for the participants to further aid their progression.

Further cohorts are running in October and the new year, with plans for expanding to the coast.

The Foundation are always looking for volunteers and donations to help with its mission.
