The Diploma in Medical Science is an intensive foundation programme recognised by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and taught in small groups.

When Can I Start?
On the first day of any month.
This programme is available completely by distance learning. You will be given access to a learning portal, where you will find your lessons and assignments. You will have your own tutor who will mark your work. You can ask your tutor questions if you are not sure about anything.
Programme Structure
This programme is intensive, full-time, 6 months or more in Canterbury.
There are 8 modules to complete:
Requirement: UFS100 University Study Skills (Non Credit)
- BSC109 Medical Terminology
- BSC101 Anatomy I and Physiology I
- BSC111 Physiology II
- BSC112 Anatomy II
- BSC103 Biochemistry I
- BSC203 Biochemistry II
- BSC303 Biochemistry III
- BSC110 Cell Biology
Each module is 4 credits – a total of 32 credits hours. Students must obtain grades of B+ or higher in order to graduate.
What Happens After?
Upon satisfactory completion of all modules and examinations and meeting all academic and other requirements, Warnborough College awards the Diploma in Medical Science (DMS) together with an Official Transcript listing modules taken and grades achieved.
The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland
Students applying to the Royal College of Surgeons will apply along with all other International applicants on a competitive basis and will be subject to the normal admissions procedures that apply to all non European Union applicants. Please note: Medical Universities set their own entrance requirements. If you wish to apply to a particular university, you should always check with admissions department of that medical school to ensure that they will accept the Warnborough College Diploma in Medical Science. ALSO, other Medical Schools will consider DMS graduates and the Dean will advise and counsel every student.
A high standard of English is required for admission (IELTS 7.5+, TOEFL 650+) to RCSI.
Who Should Apply?
Students who have a background in Science Subjects, and possess a strong determination to succeed.
Entry Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with good passes in science subjects (Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Mathematics);
- English proficiency is required for non-native speakers (IELTS 6.0 + or equivalent).*
Candidates are considered on a case-by-case basis.
* Students may begin the programme with IELTS 6.0+, but must achieve IELTS 7.5 by the end of the programme in order to graduate.
Students from non-European Union countries must satisfy the requirements of the UK Home Office and British Consulate.
